Chicken Tikka

Chicken Tikka is known as the King of Kababs. It is usually made with boneless chicken and made in Tandoor. But i made this dish in a microwave oven. A very tasty dish which can be served for your guests or for your family.

Me and my daughter is a great fan of chicken dishes. This dish has become one of our favourite. I had made this dish by using 'chicken with bone'. Tasted awesome. The succulent chicken pieces are extremely tasty that with each bite the only word that came out from our mouth was "mmm....yummy..."

This dish is very easy to prepare. I am sure you will also enjoy this dish. Try it once, and this will be one of the item which you will prepare for your guests.

Ingredients

800 gms Chicken (boneless, i used chicken with bone)

First Marinade:-
2 tsp Ginger Garlic paste
1 tsp Kashmiri red chilli powder
Salt to taste
1 tbsp Lime juice

Second Marinade:-
2 tbsp Oil
2 tbsp Besan flour/Gram flour
1 tsp Ajwain seeds
1 cup Curd
1 tsp Kashmiri red chilli powder
2 tsp Ginger Garlic paste
1/4 tsp Turmeric powder
1/2 tsp Garam masala powder
Salt to taste
3 tbsp Olive oil

Method

  • Wash, clean and cut the chicken pieces into medium size. Keep this in a bowl.
  • Add ginger garlic paste, red chilli powder, salt and lime juice. Mix well and keep this aside for 10 to 15 minutes. This is the first marinade.
  • Heat oil in a non stick pan. Put ajwain and gram flour and cook it by stirring continuously. When it changes its colour slightly and gives a nice aroma, take off from heat and add it to the curd.
  • To the curd - gram flour mixture, add red chilli powder, ginger garlic paste, turmeric powder, garam masala powder, salt and olive oil. Mix well with a whisk.
  • Add the marinated chicken into this. Mix well so as to coat each and every chicken pieces with this second marinade.
  • Keep this aside for 3 hours.
  • After 3 hours, put the chicken pieces in the skewers and place it on the baking tray or place the marinated chicken pieces directly on a greased baking tray. Place it in the microwave oven on 200 degree Celsius for about 35 to 40 minutes or till the chicken gets cooked and changes its colour slightly.
  • After 30 minutes, spread some olive oil on the chicken pieces, turn them and cook again.
  • When both sides are cooked and slightly changes its colour, take off from the oven and serve it hot.
