Masala Dosa

Ingredients

Rice (boiled rice and not raw rice. I used ponni boiled rice) - 1 and 1/2 cup
Urad - 1/2 cup
Salt to taste
Potatoes - 2
Onion (chopped) - 2 medium
Urad dal (split) - 1/2 tsp
Mustard seeds - 1/2 tsp
Turmeric powder - 1/2 tsp
Green chilli - 2 (increase the amount of green chilli if you want it to be spicy)
Oil - 3 tbsp

Method

1. Soak rice and urad separately for 6 hrs or overnight and grind it. Mix them together with the desired amount of water and leave it in room temperature.
2. Mix chopped onion and green chilli to this batter and make it little bit thin for making dosas.
3. To make the filling, boil potatoes and mash it. Keep aside.
4. In a pan, put little oil and put mustard seeds, split urad dal, chopped onion, turmeric powder, chopped green chilli.
5. When the onion turns golden brown, add mashed potatoes and mix well. Add salt as per your taste.
6. Cook for sometime and take off from heat.
7. In a dosa pan, put little oil and spread the dosa batter in it to make a thin dosa. When one side is done, turn over and cook the other side.
8. Spread small amount of filling in the dosa and fold it.
9. Serve it hot with chutney of your choice. A perfect breakfast, especially for kids.
